
What is Periodic Inspection?
The Periodic Inspection of a gas installation consists of verifying through its visible and accessible areas, the sealing and verification of the good state hereof, of the hygienic combustion of the gas appliances and the correct evacuation of the combustion products, stating their adaptation to safety regulations.
Who is responsible for performing the periodic inspection and how often is it done?
According to existing national legislation, conducting an inspection always corresponds to the gas distribution company, which is required to perform it every 5 years (according to Royal Decree 984/2015 of October 30).
Periodic inspections of the gas reception facilities fed from distribution networks, in accordance with Law 34/1998 of October 7, of the hydrocarbons sector, shall be carried out by an authorized gas installation company or by the distributor, using means own or external.
The regular inspection of the common part of the gas reception facilities must be carried out by an authorized gas installation company or by the distributor, using own or external means.
